Rachael Faust is the Founder of THE MOTHERS HERBALIST - WELCOME.

I’m a woman on a mission, to provide you - women and birthing people the care to truly nurture you through pregnancy, birth and postpartum.

As a Medical Herbalist and a mother of three children, I have nearly a decade experience of specialised care in working with mothers, so that you can flourish through motherhood, solve health concerns and claim the highest level of vitality, embodiment and connection to your children that you can.

Having worked in nurturing women, preparing exquisite birthing gifts, care packages and supporting medical conditions that arise through the childbearing years, I offer a blend of nurturing holistic care and clinical experience that means we can work at any depth.

When I became a new mother with my first child, I couldn’t find beautiful and effective botanical therapy to support women’s concerns through pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I felt disappointed with what was on offer online, so I decided to make my own birth products to nourish myself. It started with medicinal herbal teas, body soaks and a perineal spray, which has gone on to support all women, from my neighbour to several VIP celebrity clients….quite the claim to fame to support household names with their perineal care!

With my knowledge of herbalism and guidance from Doulas and birthkeeper partners, like Samsara Tanner and other wise and wild women of ‘the Village’, I created THE MOTHERS HERBALIST to provide nourishing botanical formulations for Motherhood - mind, body and soul.

My work is grounded in East Asian Medicine, in which I have trained for over seven years, which has an unbroken lineage of medicine for Women, womb care and childbearing which stretches back literally thousands of years. It also emphasises the importance of postpartum care and the ‘golden window’ for women’s health across their lifetime, which is how they manage the postpartum period. As a British person having studies this medicine, she is incredibly grateful for the knowledge she now carries which has been shared with her by this medicine tradition.

Now I also have training in naturopathy and traditional healing methods for birth and the postpartum from cultures around the world, blending botanical medicines from across the globe as well as from Europe and carefully wild-crafted herbs from nature in Sussex, to make important and essential botanical medicines for women during this particular period of their lives. Oftentimes, woman do not have access to the knowledge or support to prepare themselves for this time so I can acts as a guide, a medical herbalist and botanical formulator, to support and nourish those who feel called to work with me.
